The mission of the Acadiana Area Human Services District is to improve the quality of life for citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Acadiana Area Human Services District is seeking a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselorto provide mental health and behavioral support services to individuals in our community. The ideal candidate will offer counseling develop treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote client wellness and recovery. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus two years of counseling experience.

Job Duties:

As a Professional Counselor you will function in the capacity of a behavioral health counselor:

• providing assessments intervention and counseling to co-occurring chronically and acutely mentally ill and substance-use disorder individuals and their families.
• collaborating with psychiatrists and allied team members to carry out treatment planning.

Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic in Lafayette LA

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Career Progression Group (CPG):This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Professional Counselor 3 or 4 level. The level at which the vacancy is filled to be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

This incumbent is required to possess and maintain the necessary special requirements relevant to the assigned CPG level.
