Royersford Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team.

Our hospital is built for efficiency which makes our talented team well equipped to provide the highest quality individualized veterinary care and attention to each addition to annual care emergency cases and surgical and dental procedures we also offer medical diagnostic services including in-house bloodwork urinalysis fecal evaluations EKG blood pressure ultrasound and digital radiography.Were excited to be expanding our facility so that we can provide care to even more pets. WHAT YOULL DO

• Ensurethat clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable
• Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients on general animal husbandry and answer questions as directed by the veterinarian
• Present and explain client education materials
• Make certain all patients are kept clean and as comfortable as possible
• Ability to obtain a complete and accurate medical history as well as vital signs within the scope of veterinary technology and under the direction of a doctor
• Clearly communicate your findings to a doctor refraining from making a diagnosis
• Understand how to prep animals for minor (non-sterile) and sterile surgery
• Draw blood samples. Collect stool and urine samples under the supervision of a doctor and as allowed by state regulations.
• Keep medical records accurate and up to date
• Make certain entire hospital is clean
• Answers telephone calls quickly efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system
• Prepares client invoices for services performed
• Receives and relays telephone fax and email messages accurately and promptly

REQUIREMENTS

• 1 plus year veterinary experience or education
• Team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
