Certification Required: API 510 / 570 / 653
Job Overview:
We are seeking qualified and experienced API Inspectors to perform in-service and out-of-service inspections of static equipment such as pressure vessels piping and storage tanks. The ideal candidate should possess valid API certifications (510 570 or 653) and have strong knowledge of inspection methodologies industry standards and safety compliance procedures in oil & gas refinery and petrochemical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspection and certification of pressure vessels piping and storage tanks in accordance with API standards.
Review fabrication drawings welding procedures and material test reports for compliance.
Perform visual inspections thickness measurements and corrosion assessments.
Prepare detailed inspection reports recommend corrective actions and verify repairs.
Ensure compliance with codes such as ASME API ASTM and AWS.
Monitor shutdown and turnaround inspection activities and issue final inspection documentation.
Verify non-destructive testing (NDT) results and ensure data accuracy.
Maintain accurate inspection records calibration logs and inspection history files.
Liaise with clients contractors and quality teams to ensure inspection standards are met.
Promote and uphold safety practices during all inspection activities.
Essential Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Valid API 510 (Pressure Vessel) API 570 (Piping) or API 653 (Storage Tank) certification(s).
Additional certifications such as ASNT Level II (UT RT PT MT) are advantageous.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in inspection within oil & gas refinery or petrochemical plants.
Skills Required:
Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms material selection and failure analysis.
Proficiency in interpreting isometric drawings P&IDs and inspection reports.
Knowledge of international codes and standards (API ASME ASTM AWS).
Excellent report writing and data analysis skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in MS Office and inspection management software.
