Job Summary
To ensure compliance with SHE standards across all organization operation sites and functions by developing and supporting SHE strategies procedures and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Reports to: Director (Operation Services)
Supervises: Safety Section Head Safety Engineer and Safety Staff.
Responsibilities
Leading a team of Safety Staff for:
- Conducting Risk and Hazard Assessments.
- Developing Safety Policies Procedures and Protocols.
- Ensuring compliance to SHE Standards.
- Conducting Regular Safety Audits Inspections and Meetings.
- Developing Implementing and Supervising Emergency Preparedness Strategies.
- Developing and Implementing Safety Training Programs.
- Assessing and managing PPE requirements and supplies.
- Leading Safety Committee and Promoting Safety Culture.
- Maintaining and tracking the Safety Indices for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Leading / Supporting the safety incident investigation.
- Developing effective Liaison with top management and operation management of respective production units and departments.
Communication Boundaries:
- Management and Leaders of Respective Production and other Departments/Sections.
- Safety Staff.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Formal education and qualification in Safety Health and Environment preferably with Engineering background.
- At least 10 years experience as a Safety Professional in heavy industry preferably in a steel plant.
Required skills
- Excellent knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations standards and policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with high level of written verbal and inter-personnel communication abilities.
- Pleasant personality with ability to deal with people of different cultural educational and social background.
- Comfortable with Computer working particularly with the Microsoft Office applications.
