Job Summary

Overview

This leadership role partners closely with senior management to provide strategic and technical oversight on complex audit and accounting matters. Beyond technical expertise the position is pivotal in shaping and mentoring the Quality Assurance and Technical team ensuring the firm maintains its high standards of audit excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and guide the Quality Assurance and Technical team aligning their efforts with the firms strategic objectives.
Cultivate a culture of continuous learning innovation and professional growth within the team.
Contribute to the formulation and rollout of technical policies and best practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert on intricate audit and assurance issues offering sound technical advice.
Oversee the implementation of new and updated accounting and auditing standards across the firm.
Review complex audit files to ensure full compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Champion enhancements in audit methodology and technical processes.
Monitor regulatory developments (local and international) and advise the firm on necessary adaptations.
Design and deliver technical training programs for audit professionals.
Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the firms System of Quality Management.
Liaise with professional bodies and regulatory authorities on emerging industry issues.
Support ad hoc assignments and special projects as required.

Requirement

Degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related discipline.
Member of a recognized professional accounting body (e.g. MIA ACCA CPA MICPA ICAEW).
Brings at least 7 years of relevant experience in audit technical or quality assurance roles.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of both international and Malaysian accounting and auditing standards.
Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
Self-driven results-oriented and capable of managing complex technical challenges.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
