We are preparing to open our first Ofsted-registered childrens home in Streatham supporting up to four children aged 818 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We are seeking an experienced passionate and visionary Registered Manager to lead this exciting new venture from the ground up someone who is eager to shape a home that delivers truly life-changing outcomes for young people.
Your Role
As Registered Manager you will take full operational and regulatory responsibility for the home leading it through its pre-registration phase with Ofsted through to launch and ongoing delivery of high-quality care.
Pre-Registration Responsibilities
- Lead the Ofsted registration process in partnership with the Responsible Individual Director and consultant.
- Develop the Statement of Purpose Childrens Guide and Policies and Procedures in line with Childrens Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards.
- Ensure the property environment and staffing structure fully meet all Ofsted and regulatory requirements.
- Establish robust frameworks for safeguarding supervision care planning and quality assurance.
- Oversee the recruitment and safer recruitment checks for all staff.
- Prepare for Ofsted interviews and ensure the home is fully compliant and ready for registration.
Post-Registration Responsibilities
- Lead the homes daily operations ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and company values.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to your team fostering a culture of high-quality child-centred care.
- Oversee individual care plans ensuring they reflect each childs unique needs and progress.
- Maintain a safeguarding-first culture with clear accountability across all staff.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve and sustain Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Build strong positive relationships with children families local authorities and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records across all operational areas.

Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in an Ofsted-registered childrens home (EBD or similar).
- Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
- Strong understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
- Robust safeguarding knowledge and ability to implement effective systems and processes.
- Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with EBD trauma or attachment difficulties.
- Previous involvement in registering or setting up a new childrens home.
