Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their Vancouver office. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in building mechanical systems design and project delivery across commercial institutional and healthcare sectors specializing in HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary project teams liaise directly with clients and ensure projects are delivered on time on budget and to the highest technical standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical design and delivery of commercial institutional and healthcare building projects.
- Coordinate project schedules budgets and deliverables ensuring alignment with client objectives and company quality standards
- Oversee preparation of mechanical system designs including HVAC plumbing fire protection and medical gas systems
- Collaborate closely with architects structural electrical and other engineering disciplines
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate mechanical designers and engineers
- Conduct regular client meetings maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities
- Review and approve technical documentation drawings and specifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes ASHRAE standards CSA standards and healthcare design guidelines (e.g. CSA Z317)
- Support proposal development fee estimates and project scope preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical building systems design and project management with proven experience in commercial institutional and healthcare projects
- Strong understanding of local codes standards and healthcare facility requirements
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills
- Proficiency with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD Revit and related engineering tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams coordinate with clients and stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
