Job Description:

The 10-week Fidelity Intern Program (we lovingly call it our Fidtern Program) is our world-class opportunity for college-level students who are looking to explore and learn more about Fidelitys business and culture through a cohesive and centralized program experience. We are seeking current juniors (class of 2027) or graduate students interested in User Experience Design for an opportunity based out of our Smithfield RI or Boston MA office.

Fidelity looks for intern candidates who are dynamic curious innovative conscientious and believe in the true value of collaboration. Candidates must also be a current college student (meaning they will return to coursework after their internship has ended). Additionally you can expect that a portion of your time will be spent on site in one of our designated regional office locations. When youre designating your location preference please select the site that you will be working at for the duration of your internship! Heres what were looking for for the User Experience Design intern opportunity:

  • Undergraduate (class of 2027) or Graduate student majoring in Graphic Design Industrial Design or Interaction Design (or a major similar to those listed)
  • Collaborator and able to work as part of a team
  • Prior design experience preferred
  • Portfolio required
  • Interest in process marketing visual design and user experience
  • Ability to work out of our Smithfield or Boston offices during on-site time

  • Never a Dull Moment Our FIDTERN Summer Series includes weekly events where you can come together with other interns to learn about Fidelity. This includes a mix of in-person and virtual events everything from engaging webinars on career development financial literacy and inclusion topics community service events in-person networking events to meet with full-time Fidelity employees fun FIDTERN outings (think baseball games escape rooms go-karting) and more.
  • Networking is Encouraged- with approximately 1000 interns every year you get the chance to network and learn from one another as well as your specific business team members leaders and assigned mentors. We have a structured Intern Mentor Program where you can sign-up to be mentored by one of our Affinity Group members as well as in-person events where youll get to chat with folks across all different business units at Fidelity.
  • Find Your Future at Fidelity our goal is to identify phenomenal future Fidelity associates. Where applicable FIDERNS will have the opportunity to be considered for future internships and full-time positions at the end of their summer with us.

The Team

As a Fidelity intern you are supported by a direct manager your respective team(s) human resource professionals and additional connections available through our Employee Resource Groups for mentorship. Each summer Fidelitys University Talent team offers a number of events and programs we commonly refer to as our Fidtern Summer Series where you can come together with other interns to learn about Fidelitys mission brand and focus on client advocacy and community addition you will hear from senior leaders about our values and culture and why this is an excellent place to work! We also have professional speakers who provide resources on how to spend manage and invest your money wisely and MyCareer coaches who will help you make the most out of your internship experience with us.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
