Job Responsibilities
Develops and implements material procurement strategies to support production plans and ensure on-time delivery of raw materials and components.
Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as purchasing logistics quality assurance engineering and finance teams.
Monitors inventory levels and adjusts stocking policies accordingly to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excessive holding costs.
Implements lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to material sourcing import/export regulations and environmental standards.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to material shortages or delays in delivery.
Conducts regular audits to assess inventory accuracy inventory turnover and adherence to quality control procedures.
Analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in material procurement and inventory management.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all organizational levels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management software.
Experience working with automated material handling systems and warehouse management systems.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Understanding of basic accounting concepts related to costing budgeting and financial reporting.
Job Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Engineering Business Administration or a relevant field.
Proven experience (typically 5 years) in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
