Job Description
A well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Malton is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and commercially focused finance professional to take ownership of the finance function within a multi-site business. Reporting into the Group Finance Director the Financial Controller will:
Oversee all finance operations across multiple sites ensuring robust financial control accurate reporting and effective cashflow management
Lead and support a small finance team getting involved in the day-to-day where needed while driving continuous improvement and best practice
Take ownership of monthly management accounts presenting insightful analysis and commentary to the Senior Leadership Team
Deliver budgeting forecasting and ad-hoc financial analysis to support key commercial decisions and drive business performance
Oversee payroll VAT and balance sheet reconciliations maintaining accuracy compliance and process efficiency
Partner with operations and site managers to provide commercial insight around costs margins and productivity
Review and develop financial systems and processes to support the businesss growth and improve reporting capability
Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate the annual audit process with external partners
The ideal candidate will:
Qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA or qualified by experience with proven success in a similar Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within manufacturing or engineering
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in management accounting costing and financial reporting
Proficient in Excel and experienced with accounting systems such as Sage Xero or SAP
Confident working across multi-site operations with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Commercially astute proactive and adaptable comfortable balancing day-to-day operations with strategic finance responsibilities
This position is based in Malton North Yorkshire and is easily commutable from York Scarborough Pickering Driffield Pocklington and Thirsk.
