The Online Learning Technical Writing Intern plays a vital role in assisting users of online Seminary Institute and BYU Pathway religion courses. Support is provided through email support tickets and occasional virtual conference calls. The intern also contributes to writing revising and proofreading communications sent to Seminary and Institute employees worldwide. Additionally they help develop and proofread technical resources for both internal and external audiences. The intern supports various projects assigned by the Course Support Coordinator.
This is a paid internship expected to last for 12 months. This position is part-time (20 hours per week) hourly and nonexempt. The intern should be available during regular business hours for meetings but can work on projects outside of this time. Occasional work outside of regular business hours and on Saturdays may be required as needed. This position is hybrid with occasional in-office attendance required. Advance notice will be given for any in-person events or work required outside of regular business hours.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users related to online course content and usage in Online Seminary Institute and BYU Pathway Religion courses
Support the resolution of course-related escalation issues including instructor inactivity and student concerns
Write revise and proofread email content for various audiences
Ensure clarity consistency and accuracy in all communications
Maintain brand voice and tone across all written materials
Write revise and proofread technical resources and how-to guides for internal and external audiences
Use AI tools to translate communications and resources into other languages
Complete other projects and tasks as needed ensuring attention to detail and consideration of important deadlines
Must be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from an undergraduate or graduate degree programpreferably in English technical writing communication instructional design or another related field
Must live in Utah and be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
Strong writing revising copyediting and proofreading skills
Attention to detail ability to sustain concentration for long periods of time and maintain the highest level of accuracy
Proficiency in another language (Spanish preferred) is a plus but not necessary
Able to work independently and be self-motivated
Dependable hardworking and trustworthy
Open to feedback with a willingness to learn and improve
A team player with strong interpersonal skills
