About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Supervising Social Worker to join our passionate Supported Lodgings Team. Our focus is on supporting hosts who provide safe and stable homes for young people aged 1621 helping them develop the practical and emotional skills needed for independent living.

You must be passionate about working directly with Supported Lodgings Hosts ensuring they have the skills and confidence to support young people who have experienced trauma. We encourage all our hosts to work in a trauma-informed and therapeutic way so youll need to support both your own learning and the development of hosts to embed these principles within the home.

Our team is involved from the initial enquiry stage so your role will include:

  • Undertaking initial visits and Supported Lodgings assessments.
  • Supporting hosts through the panel process.
  • Providing regular supervision and undertaking annual reviews.
  • Collaborating with professionals to ensure placement stability and quality.
  • Participating in duty days where youll match young people to suitable hosts.
  • Attending team meetings pod meetings and multi-agency meetings such as LAC reviews stability meetings and planning discussions.
  • Ensuring hosts are meeting the key principles and quality standards of the Supported Lodgings scheme and offering guidance and challenge where needed to maintain safe supportive placements.

As part of our commitment to building relationships and community we hold a number of host and young person events throughout the year. Youll play a key role in helping to arrange and facilitate these some of which may take place outside of normal office hours.

About You

To apply for this post you must respond to and evidence the following 7 essential criteria within your personal statement. This should be no more than 1000 words.

  • Have a social work degree or equivalent e.g. CQSW or DipSW (with a specialism in childrens services) with over 2 years post qualifying experience. You must also be registered with Social Work England
  • Knowledge of Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations and Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. Experience of working in a regulated service and knowledge of care leavers and young people in transition to independence and an understanding of the challenges faced by this age group.
  • Have excellent prioritisation and time management skills to ensure the successful delivery of competing and changing work demands and be able to demonstrate this via examples.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and accurately both orally and in writing with a wide range of people including representatives from other agencies. Have good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and Word and database applications.
  • Excellent skills in assessment and analysing information to make sound evidence-based decisions. Able to professionally challenge where necessary to ensure safe and appropriate placements.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in relationship-based practice with the ability to build trust and offer reflective supervision to Supported Lodgings hosts. Confident in creating a supportive environment that encourages learning development and safe care while maintaining professional boundaries and accountability.
  • Be passionate and enthusiastic about supporting carers and developing the Supported Lodgings scheme. Demonstrate a commitment to contributing positively to team culture embracing our we are family ethos and helping to drive forward a supportive inclusive and values-led service.

You must hold a full valid UK driving licence (or be able to convert your current licence) AND have access to a vehicle.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment to equality diversity and inclusion.
