Wandiyali is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation established in Newcastle in 1997. We are the largest accredited Aboriginal provider of PSP OOHC within Newcastle Lake Macquarie Hunter Region and Port Stephens. Wandiyali also has a number of Preservation Programs and support services that work closely with children young people and families.
Wandiyali strives to employ support and develop therapeutic skills of Aboriginal people who have a passion for working in this sector.

The Opportunity
The program delivers trauma-informed client-centered and Culturally responsive case coordination and case management placing victim-survivors at the centre of service delivery. Caseworkers provide support to all family members including the person using violence through risk assessment safety planning advocacy and coordination of services ensuring that women and children are safe empowered and connected to the supports they need.
The Program operates through a multi-agency model requiring caseworkers to work in partnership with Police Health DCJ housing providers courts legal services and specialist DFV organisations as well as other relevant community support services. A core feature of the program is participation in Safety Action Meetings (SAMs) which bring agencies together to share information and develop coordinated responses to high-risk cases.
The program prioritises access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families Culturally and linguistically
diverse communities people with disabilities and other priority populations ensuring that services are Culturally safe inclusive and accessible. Brokerage funds are available to provide practical support in urgent or crisis situations such as emergency accommodation transport or safety equipment.
