The Manager of Construction Quality ensures quality improvement during pre-construction activities and the implementation of quality requirements across all projects. This is achieved through communication with the project team evaluation of engineering deliverables assessment of material submittals and periodic site inspections. The role also ensures quality documentation of project installations at active construction sites through coordination with the project team monitoring of construction activities review of inspection reports and site inspections. This position is required to interpret policies as needed maintain official training materials and document files and manage company equipment and property. Additional responsibilities include developing implementing and interpreting quality programs. This role can be performed at our main offices in Pineville LA or remotely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Owns the field quality (QA/QC) program including updates as needed annual audits to apply lessons learned and drive continuous improvement updates to the cloud-based system training of project teams and other tasks necessary to ensure excellence in executing Betas projects.
Assigns and coordinates quality personnel across various projects.
Supports staffing needs for quality personnel to meet current and upcoming project requirements.
Manages training and certification requirements for quality personnel.
Provides quality oversight on all construction projects. Ensures implementation of Betas Quality Program supports the construction team with quality-related issues and conducts audits to verify compliance.
Assists in resolving site-specific construction issues through increased site presence or remote support from the office.
Supports the project team by reviewing design-phase drawings to identify constructability concerns and ensure specifications industry standards and project designs are properly implemented prior to construction.
Ensures plan requirements are met through audits of material submittals construction activities site inspections and communication with the project team.
Participates in meetings with the field construction team to discuss design and constructability issues and develop strategies to improve progress and quality on future projects.
Shares lessons learned with project teams as appropriate.
Assists in phase completion inspections development of subcontractor punch lists and submission of quality documentation.
Assists in resolving site-specific construction issues through increased site presence or remote support from the office.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Directly supervises a team of Construction Quality Specialists and Site Construction Quality Specialists. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in alignment with Crests and Betas policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring training planning assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints; and resolving issues.
Develops initiatives and creates actionable plans to achieve strategic objectives and meet or exceed goals established by leadership. Ensures execution of these plans to support organizational success.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director or Vice President.

Communicates regularly with the supervisor regarding construction-related matters.
Serves as a representative of Beta Engineering on the construction site and consistently demonstrates an attitude and attributes that reflect Betas core values.
Operates a company vehicle as required for the position and must maintain a clean driving record.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possesses ten or more years of experience in high-voltage substation construction or holds a bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering with additional relevant experience. Must be knowledgeable in general civil structural mechanical and electrical disciplines.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of OSHA construction regulations.
Experienced in using Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Adobe Acrobat and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
