Job Summary
Electrical Engineer
Howdens is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing site in Howden East Yorkshire. This opportunity has arisen following an internal this role youll be responsible for proactive and preventative maintenance across our manufacturing equipment services and utilities while also supporting improvement projects. Youll also play a key role in providing reactive maintenance support when needed.
The ideal candidate could have either completed an engineering apprenticeship or have relevant engineering qualifications with proven manufacturing or industrial experience. Additionally a good understanding of manufacturing processes within an FMCG environment.
Pay rate:53827.28 per annum (Inclusive of Basic rate shift & disturbance allowance)
Shift pattern:
- Week 1 - Wednesday Thursday Friday - 6am-6pm
- Week 2 - Monday Tuesday - 6am-6pm Wednesday Thursday - 6pm-6am
- Week 3 - Sunday Monday Tuesday - 6pm-6am
- 7 days off

What would you be doing as an Electrical Engineer:
- Proactive and preventative maintenance
- Reactive breakdown maintenance
- Continual improvement projects
- Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
- Supporting and engaging with lean manufacturing
Key skills and experience required for the Electrical Engineer:
- Experienced in maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery
- Extraction plants
- Experience in wood working manufacturing plant desirable
- PUWER experience would be desirable
- Knowledge and experience of Siemens s7 PLCPLC Pilz Safety PLC and PLC would be desirable
- Fault finding root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Experience of computerised maintenance management systems
- NVQ Level 3 essential
