About the role

NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory planning design delivery and support services.

The Senior Procurement Advisor will be responsible for

  • providing high-quality construction procurement and contract management advice to clients
  • developing construction procurement capability of our staff
  • supporting compliance and continuous improvement of our project management systems. and
  • practical input and support into Whole-of-Government construction procurement initiatives.

In this role you will also act as the Senior Executive on a range of construction contracts and when applicable senior project manager and/or assurance lead on key NSW Public Works projects or programs and provide construction procurement assurance for unaccredited Agencies.

About you

To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive demonstrated experience as project procurement and contract management lead on infrastructure and construction projects
  • Knowledge of relevant Government construction policies process and frameworks
  • Detailed knowledge of best practice construction project management and quality processes and frameworks and experience using common industry ICT platforms
  • Appropriate qualifications and extensive working experience leading project management procurement and contract management activities on engineering and/or construction jobs
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
  • Required to travel to Public Works offices and project sites
