The Research Director Texas will lead the strategic research function for office and industrial property services across major Texas cities. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact market intelligence guiding data-driven decision-making and supporting business development client advisory and investment strategy. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in commercial real estate strong leadership capabilities and a passion for uncovering insights that drive performance and innovation. This role is in office and based in our Dallas or Houston office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a research strategy aligned with business goals and market opportunities in Texas.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to a team analysts and managers across multiple markets fostering collaboration and excellence
- Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership brokers and clients on market dynamics and trends.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Oversee the production of quarterly market reports forecasts and custom research deliverables.
- Monitor and interpret trends in leasing investment development and tenant behavior across office and industrial sectors.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection and analysis across all Texas markets.
Client & Business Development Support
- Provide tailored research and insights for pitches proposals and strategic client engagements.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to enhance thought leadership and brand positioning.
Data Strategy & Innovation
- Partner with IT on integrations of advanced analytics tools (e.g. Power BI GIS NavigatorCRE) to enhance data visualization and storytelling.
- Manage relationships with third-party data providers (e.g. CoStar Real Capital Analytics Yardi).
- Champion data governance and continuous improvement in research methodologies.
Cross-Market Collaboration
- Coordinate with national and regional research leaders to share best practices and align on strategic initiatives.
- Support special projects including redevelopment SRC initiatives and policy-related research.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Real Estate Economics Urban Planning Business or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience in commercial real estate research required.
- Expertise in both office and industrial property sectors.
- Leadership experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the Commercial Real Estate landscape across Texas
- Strong command of data platforms and visualization tools (e.g. CoStar Power BI NavigatorCRE).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex multi-market research initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for market trends and innovation.
- Collaborative leader with experience working across departments and geographies.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external clients.
- Track record of building and maintaining strong trusting relationships with stakeholders team members and clients.
- Ability to travel on a quarterly basis to the Texas markets.
