What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly skilled machinist to support unique one-off manufacturing operations for aerospace material and component development programs. Ideal candidate is an apprentice graduate with experience in tool making.

Key responsibilities:

Set up and operation of automated and manual milling lathe turning wire EDM water jet and other basic machining equipment.
Interpret and use blueprints and sketches to manufacture a wide variety of non-production experimental test specimens and tooling.
Meet with customers to understand machining objectives and develop machining operation strategies.
Trouble shoot diagnose and support basic equipment maintenance.
Knowledge leadership and effective practice of Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
Train new operators in safe and effective use of shop equipment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Must have an associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Broad experience with both automated CNC and manual manufacturing operations (lathe mill grinder band saw etc.).
Must be able to multitask and parallel process on operate multiple automated machines.
Ability to lead small teams to deliver outstanding results and overcome challenges.
Working on collaborative multi-functional problem-solving engineering teams including Design Structures Materials Development Quality and Operations.

Qualifications We Prefer:

NX or equivalent experience with CAD modeling.
Graduation from a formal apprenticeship program in tool die and gage making.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process candidates may be asked to attendselect steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 56000 USD - 112000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.
