Job Summary
Join our team at the Science Museum Cafe in London United Kingdom! Were looking for a friendly and efficient Fixed Term Cafe Assistant to provide exceptional service to our visitors. As a key member of our cafe team youll contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere while serving delicious food and beverages.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe area
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee and tea
- Handle cash and credit card transactions with precision
- Adhere to all food safety and handling procedures
- Assist with setting up and closing down the cafe as needed
Qualifications :
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Previous experience in food service or cafe environment preferred
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work weekends holidays and varying shifts as needed
- Food Safety Certification and ability to engage with museum visitors are a plus
