POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bass Pro Shops Learning & Development team focuses on developing team members (Outfitters) and front-line leaders to provide an environment of learning growth and opportunity needed for future success.
Learning & Development Specialists are responsible for defining learning objectives designing and developing training materials curriculum and resources performing needs assessments and analyzing training effectiveness. Develops the final delivery format of the curriculum; instructor-led eLearning event-based modules and blended models. This role requires strong facilitation experience. Performs intermediate project management initiation and working autonomously required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Partners with L&D leadership and peers to develop an overall strategy for leadership development including program content communications facilitation coordination participant identification and partnership with stakeholders.
- End to End program management for leadership development programs
- Conduct research to identify and implement best practices and industry trends related to leadership development.
- Applies knowledge of adult learning concepts and classroom learning techniques to ensure training achieves the desired outcome.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of existing training materials programs external training vendors and off the shelf develops and refines instructional design processes tools and templates.
- Design and develop engaging and impactful programs workshops and resources focused on relevant professional development topics.
- Source content resources methods and partnerships to make recommendations for development solutions.
- Utilizes project management skills to effectively organize the development and design of training programs curriculum and communication.
- Communicates the progress of projects processes and tools with L&D leadership learning/training team and stakeholders.
- Facilitate interactive workshops and training sessions on leadership principles coaching skills for managers and various professional development topics.
- All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Training/Learning & Development Human Resources Organizational Leadership or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience facilitating leadership development training in a professional workplace required
- Minimum of 2 years experience developing and administering leadership development programs and supporting training design and delivery preferred
- Experience in retail or manufacturing preferred
- ATD certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Familiar with standard concepts practices and procedures in learning and development.
- Have strong attention to detail a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
- Demonstrated success facilitating leadership content to all levels of the organization.
- Strong eye for visual and professional appeal imparts creativity to build engaging courseware.
- Able to manage projects create effective plans and execute.
- Strong learning strategy development curriculum and instructional design (instructor-led and online) and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated success presenting and communicating ideas to selected stakeholders and project management.
- Able to work with others collaborate effectively and build relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills: listening and communication.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Navigates ambiguity and changing priorities successfully.
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency experience in Articulate 360 Adobe products and Workday preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: <40% within the US and Canada
