Accountant (Part-Time, 5-6 Hours Per Day, 5 Days a week)

Muru Mittigar is a Dharug-led not-for-profit social enterprise that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through employment training and community development. We deliver a range of services across construction environmental management cultural education financial wellbeing and vocational training.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant (CA or CPA) to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (25-30 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who values purpose-driven work and enjoys working within a collaborative community-focused organisation. Flexibility to suit parent with school-aged children.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable receivable and payroll processing.

Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

Maintain accurate and compliant financial records in line with accounting standards and NFP reporting obligations.

Reconcile bank accounts balance sheet items and general ledger transactions.

Support grant acquittals and funding body reporting.

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant legislation.

Collaborate with external auditors advisors and leadership team to support sound financial governance.

Skills and Experience

CPA or CA qualification (essential).

Minimum 4 years accounting experience preferably within a not-for-profit or community organisation.

Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Strong attention to detail accuracy and analytical thinking.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
