SUMMARY Coordinate direct supervise and evaluate the maintenance engineer and grounds personnel (collectively staff) in the maintenance of assigned buildings. Ensure compliance with all safety health and District rules and regulations. Work with the building principal or his/her designee to coordinate building maintenance needs. Work in collaboration with the Facilities Department to maintain the facility.

- Inspect buildings and grounds for appearance vandalism cleanliness safety and maintenance. Analyze and rectify minor mechanical and electrical malfunctions. Perform preventative and minor maintenance. Initiate work orders to the Facilities Department to address issues that require specialty skills or additional support.
- Hire train schedule and assign staff. Maintain records reports time sheets and maintenance logs. Evaluate the staff assigned to the building.
- Review and manage incoming maintenance requests submitted through the work order system. Address work orders at the building level that require minor maintenance. Follow up on all work orders to ensure satisfactory completion of work and proper closure of the work order.
- Coordinates maintenance duties including preventative maintenance program work order turnaround and completion project coordination coordination or oversight of vendors/contractors and inventory management. Follow up and address deciencies noted in assigned buildings.
- Monitor and assist with managing assigned maintenance budgets for supplies and equipment including ordering inventory and procurement. Ensure proper storage of all supplies.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets for any materials added by the facilities department. Ensure proper storage of all supplies. Supervise the removal of biohazardous waste.
- Serve as a member of the Building Safety Team. Work with the Principal and the districts Director of Safety/Security & Risk Management to implement risk management strategies as it pertains to building maintenance. Assists with conducting and documenting monthly safety walks.
- Assists with addressing immediate daytime custodial needs by assigning tasks and/or coordinating with the Supervisor of Facilities - Custodial Services.
- Clean or change filters on various building equipment. Perform periodic maintenance on cleaning equipment.
- Maintain knowledge and train staff in the location and operation of emergency controls.
- Supervise and perform snow removal at assigned buildings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in maintenance or trades and in a supervisory role. Custodial experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS Valid Colorado drivers license. Safety and asbestos training required within 3 months after entering position. CPR and First Aid training preferred at hire; required within three months of hire. Criminal Background Check required for hire.
TECHNICAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Basic problem solving skills.
- Ability to acquire skills necessary to operate various types of cleaning equipment and snow removal equipment
- Ability to utilize and manage an online work order system
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor maintenance
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changes without notice
- Ability to train lead inspire supervise and evaluate others
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies District Policies Superintendent policies and building/department procedures
- Ability to communicate interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as computer copier fax machine E-mail etc.
- Operating knowledge of basic custodial equipment
- Operating knowledge of basic tools for performing preventative and minor maintenance
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE:
Reports to: Supervisor of Facilities
- This position reports to the Supervisor of Facilities but will work in direct contact with building administration and at times must take direction from building administration to respond to critical needs of the assigned work site(s).
Direct Reports: Assigned maintenance engineers and grounds staff.
BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for assisting in development and oversight of the budget for the assigned buildings.
