Head of Engineering Operations
Location: Bay Area (San Mateo)
Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Overview:

We are seeking a Head of Engineering Operations to drive operational excellence andscalability across our global engineering this role you will be responsiblefor building and evolving the systems practices and culture that enable our teams to
deliver high-quality products at speed while maintaining engagement and effectivenessduring a period of growth and innovation.

Youll partner closely with senior engineering and product leaders to strengthencollaboration streamline delivery and ensure teams are accountable to high standards ofexecution and impact. This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a strategicmindset operational rigor and a passion for empowering teams to do their best work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Delivery Excellence: Establish frameworks for planning tracking anddelivering products with predictability and quality. Define and maintain successmetrics such as cycle time release frequency quality defect rate and teamengagement.
  • Hold Teams to High Standards:Define communicate and enforce high standardsfor engineering delivery quality and team performance while fostering a culture ofcontinuous improvement.
  • Scale Engineering Ops: Develop and mature processes tooling and practices thatscale with the growth of our engineering organization and product portfolio.
  • Technical Evolution: Partner with engineering leadership to address tech debttrack plans for scale reliability security and ensure teams have the toolsautomation and observability needed to deliver effectively.
  • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders across EngineeringProduct and Design to improve team effectiveness accelerate decision-makingand enhance cross-functional alignment.
  • Improve Team Engagement & Effectiveness: Champion initiatives that support team health engagement and retention. Partner with People teams to ensure managers and engineers are set up for success.
  • Strengthen Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong operating rhythms across Product Engineering and Design and adjacent functions to enhance collaboration transparency and accountability.
  • Operational Leadership: Own the cadence of planning reviews and retrospectives across the engineering org. Ensure teams are working on the right priorities at the right time.

  • Clear accountability through defined metrics and dashboards visible across the organization.
  • Strengthened cross-functional collaboration between Product Engineering andDesign.
  • Increased predictability in product delivery (improved on-time commitmentsreduced delays).
  • Faster release cadence with maintained or improved product quality.
  • High engagement scores lower attrition and improved team health.
  • Scalable processes and toolchains that support the companys next phase ofgrowth.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in engineering operations program management orengineering leadership roles in SaaS or high-growth technology companies.
  • Proven success scaling engineering operations in a company that has experiencedrapid product and organizational growth.
  • Experience driving end-to-end SDLC maturity tooling improvements andautomation that improve team velocity and faster delivery.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles agile practices andproduct delivery at scale.
  • Exceptional leadership communication and influencing skills with the ability todrive change across senior stakeholders.
  • Experience building and tracking metrics that drive accountability and continuousimprovement.

Base Salary Range: $240548.00 - $285500. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6senses total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan and stock options if approved by 6senses addition 6sense provides a variety of benefits including generous health insurance coverage life and disability insurance a 401K employer matching program paid holidays self-care days and paid time off (PTO). #Li-remote
