Job Summary

The Intensive Inclusion Teacher will provide direct academic social/emotional and behavioral support to students with intensive needs within the general education setting. The teacher will work collaboratively with the general education team to adapt the curriculum and environment ensuring students can successfully access the general education curriculum and are fully included in the middle school RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborates and co-plans with general education teachers to modify and adapt instructional materials and assessments to meet the unique needs of direct specialized instruction to students individually or in small groups within the general education individualized behavior plans and provides research-based behavioral interventions and social/emotional support to promote student success in the inclusion as the case manager for an assigned caseload of students ensuring all aspects of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are de-escalation strategies and provides crisis support to students as in partnership with general education staff school counselors and other support personnel to foster a cohesive and supportive team ongoing and effective communication to parents and team members regarding student and coaches general education staff on effective inclusion strategies and behavior management current and accurate student records including data collection to monitor progress toward IEP confidentiality regarding all student information and supports students across different grade levels and subject areas.
