Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen DTU Winds profile in floating wind energy with a special focus on nonlinear hydrodynamic fluid-structure interaction and the interaction between the hydrodynamic and rotor-based motion response. Computational Fluid Dynamics will be an integral part of the scientific research including development of relevant solvers and re-simulation of model test results.

You will be a member of the Fluid and Offshore Mechanics section which has a strong track record in offshore aero-elasticity numerical flow computation and experimental work. You will work with nearby colleagues and international collaborators and be an active contributor to the ongoing project formation and funding acquisition.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Contribute to teaching within Offshore Wind Energy
  • Hydrodynamic remodelling of model test results in OpenFOAM
  • Development of hydrodynamic load and response models
  • Development of digital twin solutions in mid and high fidelity
  • Planning and execution of physical model tests for floating wind turbines
  • Scientific publication
  • Contributing to grant proposals
  • Supervision of MSc and BSc studies

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

Starting date is 1 December 2025 or according to mutual agreement.
