Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic experienced and passionate individual for the position of First Nations Engagement and Pathways Officerto join the team at Emmaus College Rockhampton. This is a term time continuing position for 38hpw for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

This position is a school based role guiding students toward meaningful vocational tertiary and employment pathways with a strong focus on culturally safe practices and First Nations engagement.

TheFirst Nations Engagement and Pathways Officer will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous doing so advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families communities teachers and college.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories cultures and spiritualities.
  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through personalised career guidance inclusive education planning and strong community collaboration.
