Job Summary

Introduction

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa our client has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant based in Fordsburg Jhb South Africa. The Accountant is to manage and maintain accurate financial records ensuring the clinics financial health compliance and support for informed decision-making for a large medical clinic finance department.

Responsibilities:

Managing the accounts department
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports
Monitor budgets and track clinic expenditures
Ensure compliance with relevant tax financial and medical industry regulations
Work closely with management to support financial planning and decision-making
Assist with payroll processing and reconciliation
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit purposes

Requirements:

Degree or diploma in Accounting Finance or related field
Valid registration with SAICA or ACCA
Minimum 5 years experience in an accountant or accounts manager role
Minimum 23 years experience in a healthcare/medical environment ideally a large clinic or hospital - A MUST.
Proven experience managing an accounts department
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and relevant legislation in South Africa
Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Sage Xero or similar) and MS Excel
Attention to detail organizational skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Salary is market related
