Core Purpose
The purpose of the job is to produce technical deliverables on of large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
Specific focus on civil Infrastructure design using Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D is a requirement.
To carry out the planning design site supervision and construction monitoring for both internal and external civil municipal infrastructure (water and sewer roads and stormwater including stormwater management plan) for existing and new developments for both Private and Public Sector Clients.
Compilation of Tender Documentation including Conditions of Contract Specifications Bills of Quantities and Tender Drawings.
Key Performance Areas
- Design and prepare detailed documentation for municipal engineering services.
- Plan organise and control specific technical tasks to achieve project objectives.
- Work independently on technical deliverables across various project stages.
- Prepare technical reports design drawings and presentations for internal and client communication.
- Apply sound knowledge of GCC 2015 SABS 1200 and COLTO specifications in all project work.
- Manage and coordinate the design and documentation of both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Ensure all work aligns with the companys Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards.
- Utilise Civil Designer Civil 3D and AutoCAD software effectively for design and documentation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with team members clients and stakeholders to support collaboration and information sharing.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
- Keep abreast of developments in technical best practice design standards and industry trends.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Applicable Bachelors for BTech degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registration with ECSA (preferred).
Experience:
- 5 or more years experience with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design experience a pre-requisite.
Person Requirements:
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge and experience in working with AutoCAD.
- Experience working in Civil Designer Software and/or Civil3D.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Competent in preparing and presenting technical reports including Services reports.
- Knowledge of Document Management for Drawings and Documents including reports tenders contracts etc.
- Drafting of tender documents including project specifications.
- Knowledge for the preparation of tender evaluation reports.
- Contract administration in the form taking site meeting minutes reviewing of construction programmes etc.
- Knowledge and experience of Quality assurance when carrying out site inspections and adherence to local authority standards.
- Knowledge of cost estimating of different design development options.

- Attention to detail and problem solving abilities;
- Strong organisational and planning skills;
- MS Office literacy;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to use own initiative to identify priorities and organize own work;
