Position Summary
The Communication Systems Administrator is responsible for the ongoing support maintenance and development of Paraco Gass enterprise communication platforms in support of the System Analyst. This role ensures that the companys call center texting and related communication systems operate efficiently securely and in alignment with business objectives. The position collaborates closely with IT colleagues and business stakeholders to deliver reliable communication infrastructure and user-focused solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Enterprise Communication Systems
- Support maintain and manage the Enterprise Desk and Call Centre system ensuring reliable performance and optimal configuration.
- Develop and implement new solutions or enhancements within the call center platform to meet business needs in coordination with the System Analyst and other IT staff.
- Support maintain and manage the Enterprise Texting Platform ensuring integration with other business systems and maintaining compliance with communication standards.
- Develop and deploy improvements workflows and automations in the texting platform to improve efficiency and communication flow.
Collaboration and Technical Projects
- Work collaboratively with the Network Administrator to manage and maintain internet service and connectivity across branch locations ensuring uptime and performance.
- Assist the Data Centre Manager with communication-related infrastructure projects including system upgrades vendor coordination and network improvements.
- Collaborate with the Software Engineer to design develop and test communication system APIs and related integrations.
- Coordinate with the Helpdesk Team to diagnose and resolve user-reported issues related to communication systems.
- Participate in project planning implementation and documentation efforts related to communication technology initiatives.
Administration and Support
- Maintain system documentation configuration records and operational procedures for communication platforms.
- Manage user access permissions and profiles for communication systems.
- Perform regular system audits and apply updates patches and configuration changes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies data protection regulations and security standards.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 24 years of hands-on experience administering communication or contact center systems.
- Experience with enterprise messaging telephony or unified communications platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs integrations and basic scripting for automation or data exchange.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of communication technologies (telephony SMS VoIP call routing etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and detail.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- May require participation in after-hours maintenance windows.
