Reports to: Finance Manager
I. Position Purpose: To support the ministry of the church by accurately maintaining accounting records of donations to parish and school other income and expenses associated with capital campaigns and fundraisers for parish and school and parishioner database.
Essential Functions
Accessing parish database timely record all donations to parish and school associated with offertory capital campaigns and fundraisers.
Maintain timely and accurate records of all donations and expenditures for capital campaigns and fundraisers posting in ParishSoft on weekly basis and as directed by Finance Manager/Bookkeeper.
Work closely with Finance Manager campaign Chairs and vendors to organize and report financial data.
Manage Parish Virtus Safe Environment program for staff and volunteers.
Ensure year-end contributions reports of donations are timely prepared and mailed to donors and parishioners. Prepare thank-you letters for memorial and other contributors as directed.
Administer parishioner offertory envelope program through ensuring updated and accurate parishioner database. Maintain supplies of blank offering envelopes for visitors and special offerings.
Supervise bulk mailings as required. Provide input to directories and other publications as requested.
Provide reports regarding parishioner data as requested. Maintain records according to retention policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Have a strong commitment to the mission of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and be in full communion with the Catholic Church
Have positive communication skills verbal and written and exercise courtesy and confidentiality with all.
Ability to plan and organize work effectively and efficiently.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications particularly Word Outlook Excel as well as with databases.
Minimum 3 years general office experience.
Associate or bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
