Reports To:Nutrition Supervisor
Employment Type:Full-Time- Pay is $16.46/hr
Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in your community Childrens Friend is looking for a compassionate energetic and detail-oriented WIC Program Assistant to be the welcoming face and helpful hand for families navigating the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program. This is more than just a jobits an opportunity to create a lasting impact.
What Youll Do:
As a WIC Program Assistant youll play a vital role in helping families access essential nutrition services and community resources. Your day-to-day will include:
- Screening applicants for eligibility
- Providing program information and secondary nutrition education
- Performing basic health assessments like height weight and hemoglobin checks
- Connecting families with vital services such as housing food banks and healthcare
- Supporting WIC participants both in-person and over the phone
- Keeping our records and systems accurate and up to date
What You Bring:
A high school diploma or GED
At least one year of administrative support experience
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
Experience in a medical or social services setting (preferred)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required); additional languages a plus!
A heart for helping others and a passion for community health
