About the Role
Design the power systems that will drive the energy transition.
Were seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced clean energy solutions - from utility-scale solar PV and battery storage to EV charging infrastructure and microgrids. This role will take ownership of the full engineering lifecycle shaping grid-interconnected solutions and delivering high-impact projects that power communities schools and businesses with sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities
Lead design of solar PV battery storage EV charging and off-grid microgrid systems.
Develop full construction drawing sets (single-line and three-line diagrams) in compliance with NEC IEEE and utility interconnection standards.
Conduct interconnection studies prepare applications and create dynamic system models.
Perform power system studies including load flow arc flash short circuit harmonic analysis and protective device coordination.
Conduct site visits to assess infrastructure and determine optimal equipment placement.
Manage vendor relationships and integrate innovative distributed energy resources (DERs).
Collaborate with clients utilities and contractors to resolve design issues and RFIs.
Write clear technical reports and proposals simplifying complex energy solutions.
Ensure compliance with all safety codes jurisdictional and utility requirements.
Qualifications
California PE License (Required)
5 years of experience in power distribution utility interconnection or DER systems
Expertise in solar PV energy storage EV infrastructure and/or microgrids
Strong knowledge of NEC IEEE and utility interconnection procedures
Proficiency with ETAP SKM or similar tools for modeling and power studies
Experience with BOMs equipment specifications and routing plans
Strong balance of technical depth with big-picture problem solving
Excellent communication skills to engage clients regulators and cross-functional teams
