The Department of Orthopedics is currently seeking a full time Radiologic Technologist 1 to work in Miami FL. The Radiologic Technologist 1 (H) sees patients referred for radiological examinations and produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. An employee in this position operates with the goal of preventing patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

  • Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays video tape and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

  • Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.

  • Explains procedures observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan monitors patients conditions and reactions and reports abnormal signs to a physician.

  • Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.

  • Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.

  • Records processes maintains patient data and treatment records and prepares reports.

  • Organizes examination rooms ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.

  • Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:

Associate degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

No experience necessary

Department Specific Functions

  • Working with the Orthopedic Faculty at UHealth Towers Plantation Doral and Sole Mia orthopedic clinics locations in the role of Radiologic Technologist 1. Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
