Job Summary
Performs selected physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. Other duties may include documentation of treatment progress modification of specific treatment in accordance with patient status within the plan of care and supervision of Physical Therapy Technicians.

- Associate Degree with satisfactory completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
- Current South Dakota licensure as a physical therapist assistant.
- Physical stamina requisite to lift carry and/or otherwise move and manipulate the equipment used in evaluation and treatment.
- Physical stamina requisite to standing walking stooping pulling pushing and lifting while transporting or transferring patients and performing treatments.
- Visual auditory and speech acuity requisite to verbal and written communication with patients families physicians and other persons involved with the patients care.
Working Conditions
- Work involves almost constant one to one contact with patients.
- Work is intermittently light (exerting/lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally up to 10 pounds frequently or a negligible amount constantly) to moderately heavy (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally up to 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly) or heavy (exerting/lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly) and is usually performed inside in a well lit heated air conditioned space.
