About the role

As a VAS Operations Engineer you will be responsible for executing daily operational and monitoring tasks within the production environments of key AppLogic Network customers. You will support the delivery of value-added services (VAS) ensuring stability responsiveness and continuous improvement of deployed solutions.

Operating within a high-availability infrastructure your role will focus on proactive incident detection initial triage and coordination of resolution workflows. For issues outside your technical scope you will collaborate with internal support or engineering teams while maintaining clear and timely communication with customers throughout the resolution lifecycle.

What youll do:

• Work with Customer Network Operations for deployment maintenance administration and operational tasks
• Diagnose AppLogic Networks equipment failures
• Recommend configuration changes and assist with implementations
• General services as required including installation of software maintenance updates for all AppLogic Networks devices and solutions
• Proactive health monitoring of software/hardware issues Daily monitoring of system health KPIs logs alarms with a sense of urgency when issues arise
• Work within customers change management and maintenance window guidelines
• Analyze & troubleshoot critical Applications traffic and detect problems through the use of essential software tools (traffic sniffers simulators traffic detection MRTG PRTG SNMP polling logs)
• Lead the analysis/discussion with other departments in order to solve and prevent issues
• Submitting and escalation of issues into L2 support as needed
• Accountability for Case management and ensuring that they are resolved
• Providing consultative support and mentor other less experienced team members
• Positive contribution towards quality reviews for other colleagues and peers

What you bring:

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering or another STEM program
• 5 years of applicable experience
• Native level proficiency in Chinese Mandarin

Required Qualifications:

• Commanding knowledge of Unix based operating systems such as Linux
• Proven experience in virtualization technologies (VMware KVM) deployment of OpenStack and experience with automation tools like Ansible
• Familiar with cloud architecture (AWS Google cloud) containers and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes swarm) and tools like Docker Jenkins.
• Proven Experience in virtual concepts like: NUMA SRIOV PCI-Passthrough Virtio
• Good understanding of NFV particularly around MANO/ONAMP
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as python Perl etc.
• Experience with web technologies (JavaScript HTML5 HTTP Angular)
• Experience with modern web applications using Ajax and REST APIs will be advantageous
• Experience of data modelling DB administration Vertica SQL/PostgreSQL
• Experience with SQL databases network traffic monitoring in a Telecom ISP or Cable Internet environment
