| Job Description: | The Department of PSYCHOLOGY at the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-accruing Assistant Professor in the field of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. The specific area of research is open but should focus on neuroscience research that complements and expands existing strengths in the department and the university at large including perception/attention substance use decision-making stress/emotion and neurodegenerative disorders in any model system (humans or animals). Applicants should have an outstanding record of research achievement and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate instruction in psychology and neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to (1) maintain a program of research with high potential for external funding (2) teach graduate and undergraduate courses in neuroscience (3) mentor students and (4) provide service to the institution and academy. The Psychology Department offers doctoral programs in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience behavior analysis counseling psychology developmental psychology and social psychology. We currently have 43 full-time faculty 100 PhD students and > 2000 undergraduate majors.
