Role Summary
The Portfolio Acceleration Team Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for anticipating business needs and developing executing and measuring success of novel initiatives that will enhance market development increase competitive share and optimizes the customer and patient experience for the oncology portfolio. This role will lead a team of approximately seven individuals and will be responsible for managing developing and enhancing Portfolio Acceleration initiatives and strategies while supporting the oncology portfolio of about 25 addition this colleague will serve as a thought partner of the Vice President of Oncology Commercial Analytics and liaise with National Sales Directors Medical Affairs and Patient Services to ensure alignment and efficiencies.
Role Responsibility
Serve as a senior leader developing innovative approaches and solutions leading and/or participating in key Portfolio Acceleration initiatives and collaborating closely with functional partners to achieve business objectives aligned with brand and Chief Marketing Office (CMO) goals. This colleague will oversee the implementation of innovative ideas/solutions for the Oncology Portfolio of products. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning and Alignment:Participate in strategic and business planning processes and manage annual process to align goals and objectives with vision mission and strategies while ensuring alignment with leadership and key stakeholders (including operational and support units) to the Customer Engagement Platform including strong partnership with Sales leaders and the Oncology Accounts Group (OAG).In addition serve as central clearing house to support model evolution design and development for all field-based customer facing colleagues.
Field Alert Strategy:In partnership with National Sales DirectorsDevelop oversee and continuously refine the field alert strategy providing real-time data-driven alerts to sales representatives based on significant events within their territories such as new prescriptions new patients or new healthcare providers (HCPs).
Field Force Size & Structure:Lead the analysis and optimization of sales force size and structure including supporting model evolution design and development for all field based customer facing colleagues (commercial and medical) to ensure alignment with business objectives and market opportunities. Collaborate with sales leadership to design and implement effective territory alignments resource allocation and deployment strategies. Utilize advanced analytics to assess sales force effectiveness identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable strategies to enhance field force performance and productivity.
Key Account Manager Analytics:Oversee dedicated analytical support to the Oncology Accounts Group (OAG) by developing and delivering insights on key accounts including performance metrics market potential and competitive dynamics. Collaborate with KAMs to identify opportunities for growth optimize account strategies and enhance engagement with key stakeholders. Ensure that KAMs have access to accurate and timely data to inform their decision-making and drive account-level success.
Special Projects:Oversee above-brand special projects in service to field teams including developing and executing strategic initiatives such as addressing unmet patient needs identifying incremental opportunities for Net Promoter Score (NPS) gains and assessing competitive dynamics. Provide critical insights on changes to product share evaluating product growth opportunities and prioritizing products within field colleagues portfolio. Collaborate closely with National Sales Directors to ensure these projects align with broader sales strategies and objectives and be scaled across the portfolio.
Portfolio Acceleration Strategies and Decisions:Translate business strategies into efficient operational plans with aligned objectives measures and initiatives across critical dimensions of the business
Initiative Management:Maintain and prioritize Portfolio Acceleration initiatives to ensure resources are deployed to the highest-value work; regularly review with senior leaders.
Innovation Development:Proactively identify opportunities to drive innovation and partner with non-traditional customers and channel intermediaries; support model evolution design and development for all field-based customer facing colleagues across functions.
People Leadership:Lead and develop direct reports and/or temporary developmental roles that may be assigned and coach/mentor team members in best practices frameworks approaches and tools.
Manage budget and resources for the Portfolio Acceleration department.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree required
12 years experience in marketing strategy new product launch customer engagement or business development in the pharmaceutical medical device or biotechnology industries.
5 years demonstrated experience in quantitative and analytical commercials roles
Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive collaborate influence and operate across functions cultures and geographies within a matrix organization
Strong project management skills strategic thinking and experience at driving projects at the Business Unit level
Demonstrated success ininfluence/negotiationand proven ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong organizational and analytical skills including capabilities for assessing complex business challenges and translating them into actionable plans.
Experience representing novel opportunities/brand plans to senior leadership.
Demonstrated creativity in development and partnership collaborations on innovative programs; use of technology and digital capabilities.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills (verbal and written) thinks & communicates with the audiences needs first
Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
