Were looking for a motivated and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Operative to support our paving crew in Christchurch delivering high-quality work on time and to this hands-on role youll play a key part in helping the team meet productivity safety and quality targets across a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing the ground clearing levelling and compacting the base before paving.

• Laying materials using materials like asphalt concrete slabs block paving or tarmac.

• Operating machinery using tools such as compactors rollers and sometimes mechanical pavers.

• Finishing and sealing ensuring the surface is level smooth and properly joined/sealed.

• Repairing surfaces fixing potholes cracks or worn areas.

As a Paving Operative youll be responsible for the safe efficient and professional operation of plant and equipment ensuring everything is well-maintained and compliant with current regulations.

Youll also have:

• A Full Class 2 Drivers License

• Physical strength and stamina

• Attention to detail and spatial awareness

• Ability to follow site plans and drawings

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
