About the opportunity

The Recruitment Engagement & Marketing team is looking for a passionate and experienced Brand Events Manager.

The Brand Event Manager plays a pivotal role in elevating the University of Tasmanias brand through the design theming and delivery of high-impact events and sustainable branded merchandise.

In this role you will lead a team responsible for the end-to-end management of flagship events ensuring each experience is creatively themed operationally excellent and aligned with the Universitys brand mission and values. You will be accountable for embedding sustainability in procurement developing implementing and maintaining an equipment management system and fostering strong stakeholder relationships across the University and with external partners.

You will work closely with the Head of Brand to drive innovation continuous improvement and best practice in event delivery contributing to the Universitys reputation locally and globally.

What youll do:

  • Provide management in the planning theming and execution of major University events ensuring alignment with brand and institutional objectives.
  • Develop and implement a sustainable merchandise procurement strategy ensuring all branded items reflect the Universitys brand environmental and ethical commitments.
  • Lead mentor and develop a high-performing events team fostering a culture of creativity collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor evaluate and report on event outcomes stakeholder feedback and sustainability metrics to inform ongoing improvement.
  • Support the development and delivery of sponsorship agreements ensuring brand alignment mutual value and effective activation across events and activations.

What were looking for:

  • Relevant experience in event management and or qualifications in industry.
  • Extensive experience in planning theming and delivering large-scale events in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sustainable procurement and merchandise strategy including knowledge of ethical sourcing and modern slavery requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement negotiation and communication skills.
  • High-level organisational project management and budget management abilities.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152033 comprising base salary within the range of $114282 to $129943 plus 17% superannuation.
