Inspection of the civil/structuraland related mechanicalcomponents of construction projects including standalone contracts attheWest PointBrightwaterandvarious offsite facilities and other WTD facilities throughout the County as needed. Ensure compliance with the Contract documents and code for the repair and/or installation ofvarious components of WTDsincluding pipelinesearthworkshoring concrete(foundations above and below grade structures etc.) paving structural steeland other work involving thecivil/structuraltrades. Contract value amounts vary from small <$10k work orders to large $200M lump sum and alternative delivery contracts.

Qualifications You Bring:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications as applied to wastewatertreatment facility and large conveyance systems.
Specialized knowledge of construction methodstechniquesand cost factors with emphasis on civil structural and pipeline installations.
Two years of technical school training in mechanical civil or a related technical field and four (4)years of progressively responsible construction inspection or sub-professional engineeringexperience is(additionalacademic or vocational courses incivilengineering;coderequirements or building construction);OR six years ofprogressively responsiblecivil/structuralconstruction inspection or responsible constructionengineeringexperience isOR three years of experience as a journeyman level tradesperson working in wastewater construction or other closely field.
Ability to inspect materials and workmanship and recognize deficiencies and omissions requiringcorrection
Knowledge of relevant construction laws ordinances codes regulationsspecificationsandstandards.
Demonstrated ability to understand and follow technical specifications and procedures.
Knowledge of the construction ofcivil/structuralcomponents especially as applied towastewater treatment or heavy industrial facilities.
Experience with managing construction activities in operational environments and knowledge ofhazards and safety procedures involved.
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing including ability to use a computer for
word-processing and data analysis to produce daily inspection reports test reports and other related construction documentation.
Experience construction facilities in operating wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
Experience inspecting civil aspects of construction projects such as buried pipeline construction.

Work Location:Career Service position will work out of Brightwater Treatment Plant - 22505 State Route 9 SE Woodinville WA 98072 and the Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position will work out of West Point Treatment Plant -1400 Discovery Park Blvd Seattle WA 98199 (This is not a telecommute position.)
Work Schedule:This full-time position works a 40-hour work week Monday-Friday and may work either a 5x8 4x10 or 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off) based on contractor scheduling. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
