Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to perform diagnostics maintenance and repairs on high-power EV charging systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction and requires extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute diagnostic maintenance and repair work on charging systems
  • Perform commissioning and periodic maintenance interventions
  • Work independently and collaboratively to maximize repair efficiency
  • Document repairs thoroughly and consistently
  • Provide feedback to remote service and development teams
  • Coordinate service interventions within assigned territory

Requirements

  • Technical Background
  • Technical certification or experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience as electrician in low-voltage range (up to 1000V)
  • 2 years support role in eMobility/EV charging industry
  • Basic software and diagnostic skills
  • Full stack IT infrastructure knowledge (hardware software network telecommunications)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Windows Excel Word)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Professional communication abilities
  • Experience working under time pressure
  • Ability to manage urgent customer escalations
  • Ability to lift 75lbs (components and units)
  • Capable of repeated ladder climbing
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods
  • Valid drivers license
  • Valid passport
  • Flexibility for overtime work
  • Willingness for domestic and international travel

Required Skills:

Proven work experience in developing and executing test cases related to eMobility electrical and software systems including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R). 5 years of applicable experience working in Validation Engineering minimum. Ability to interpret electrical circuits with a strong comprehension of electrical transients and steady-state properties. Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems as well as experience working with test instrumentation data acquisition/analysis software and testing methodology. Solid understanding of high voltage battery management systems as well as experience with electric motors and drive-specific design. Experience with HIL simulation systems such as DSpace Typhoon OPAL-RT or similar software. Proficient in simulation and modeling using tools such as Matlab Simulink Stateflow and LabVIEW as well as experience with model-based design. Preferred Automotive and/or Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies experience highly preferred. Experience with CAN Networks and electrical test and measurement equipment (i.e. DMM Oscilloscope Vector CANalizer/CANoe). Experience with troubleshooting DAQ systems and Loggers preferred. Knowledge of embedded processor control logic with the ability to program controllers. Experience with automotive standards like ISO.


Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering ideally Electrical Mechanical Industrial Computer or other applicable engineering or technical field.
