Who Youll Work With

The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.

We are seeking a Developer Experience Engineer I to join our team in Houston Texas. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about developer tooling and automation. You will focus on solving developer challenges through automation-first strategies and help make our development process more self-sufficient and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation scripts and tools using languages like Python as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform to streamline developer workflows.
• Create and maintain onboarding guides internal documentation and tutorials to help new developers become productive quickly.
• Support the creation and maintenance of consistent development environments whether through scripting containerization or cloud-based solutions.
• Serve as a point of contact to gather feedback from developers about their pain points and work with the DevOps team to prioritize and implement improvements.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing metrics related to developer productivity and experience and propose actionable improvements based on data.
• Identify and implement small incremental changes that can enhance the overall developer experience fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• A strong interest in developer tooling and automation.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving mindset.
• This role is intended for recent college graduates ideally those who have completed internships in relevant areas.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financials Houston TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
