Job Description
Location/Division Specific Information:
As part of the BioServices team the Rockville MD site focuses on the receipts inventory storage withdrawal and shipment of biological specimens samples clinical agents and materials fro multiple commercial and government clients.
How Will You Make an Impact:
The Material Handler I supports operations by storing and shipping materials at temperatures ranging from ambient (room temperature) to -196 degrees C with potentially hazardous properties.
A Day in the Life:
- Receive incoming raw materials
- Facilitate movement of materials including hazardous materials across the site
- Maintain accurate inventory through receipts adjustments and cycle counts
- Perform GMP/GDP production functions
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Required: No previous work experience required
- Preferred: Experience in distribution warehouse or supply chain or related field
- Preferred: Experience with warehouse equipment
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Able to work independently and set priorities
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to work with methods to handle process and store specimens using a computerized storage and retrieval system
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Able to work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice liquid nitrogen cryogenics hazardous and infectious agents and marked changes in temperature
- Must use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs and push up to 70 lbs
- Periodically work in walk-in freezers and refrigerators for up to 5 hours per day

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $13.82$23.04.
