The new University of Iowa Health Care North Libertydepartment of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist withprimary duties in MRI. Perform and teach specialized MRI and research procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
Duties Include:
Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing MRI imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision.
Perform MRI procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
Has knowledge of and applies MRI safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients personnel and equipment.
Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.

Experience Requirements:
RequiresSuccessful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Recent work or clinical education experience in MRI.
MRI modality training.
MRI certification or eligible.
Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
