Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Licensing and Compliance Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and driving key workstreams related to state licensing ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating effective communication between various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal background project management skills and the ability to navigate complex processes.
What you will do:
- Ownership of Workstreams: Take full ownership of licensing workstreams ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
- Process Management: Drive processes related to state licensing including follow-up with external counsel and other stakeholders as well as coordination with internal teams.
- Checklist Development: Create and maintain checklists for each deal collaborating with stakeholders to ensure all necessary steps are completed.
- Communication: Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams and external counsel facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with the 40 Act and other regulatory acts governing funds staying updated on relevant changes and requirements.
- Organizational Skills: Maintain organized records and documentation related to licensing processes and project management.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders to manage expectations and drive project timelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the licensing workstreams.
What you should have:
- Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field; legal background preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a legal or project management role preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the 40 Act and regulatory requirements related to fund management.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively; Proactive mindset with a drive to own processes and deliver results.
