Description

At Hi-Way Paving we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving storm drainage and excavation on highways and airfields.

We are looking for a Class A or B CDL Driver to operate manual field equipment and support our slip-form concrete paving operations. This role involves driving commercial trucks loading and unloading materials performing daily equipment inspections and maintenance and working overnight.

Additionally the CDL Driver will assist with general labor tasks on-site. Depending on project needs this position requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts.

While based in Nashville TN this role may require up to 100% travel to job sites in Charlotte NC; Columbia SC; and other future site locations TBD.

What Youll Do:

Drive company vehicles including water truck vac truck dump truck fuel truck and more.
Distribute materials to appropriate job locations according to project plans or specifications.
Assist mechanics with the general maintenance of commercial vehicles.
Shovel and rake dirt gravel and concrete as needed.
Operate small equipment such as dozers backhoes and rollers when required.
Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators as needed.
Communicate effectively with laborers machine operators and site management.
Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety protocols and instructions.

What We Look For:

Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Required
Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and TankerEndorsement (Preferred)
Manual Transmission Experience (Required)
Heavy or Highway Construction Experience (Preferred)
Availability to work overnight (Required)
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g. Airport AOA Military Bases)
Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift 75 lbs. climb stand sit walk enter confined spaces push pull kneel squat and perform repetitive movements.
