What Youll Do

Plans and coordinates operational activities within Enterprise Planning and Controls as well as interfaces across organizations for the EP&C Sr. Director. Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the Sr. Director to facilitate efficient decision-making.

  • Acts as an advisor to the Sr. Director and EP&C management team
  • Coordinates and executes strategic initiatives and implements the CNS Strategic Plan Mission Success model across EP&C
  • Works hand in hand with the Senior Director management team direct staff and cross functional teams to understand and improve systems where needed
  • Demonstrates creativity foresight and mature technical judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems determining objectives and requirements and developing standards and guides for diverse activities
  • Implements company policies and makes recommendations on development of new policies
  • Assists in providing working and adaptable Tactical Execution Plans (TEP); TEPs provide accountability visibility and track-ability to an executing team in support of site deliverables
  • Provides direct leadership of organizational activities including activities with multiple functions to accomplish a common goal
  • Leads manages and/or supports organizational special projects and/or transformation initiatives
  • Recognized as a leader in Planning & Controls functions while leveraging interfaces with outside organizations
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as having an important impact on Enterprise Planning & Controls functions
  • Participates in regular meetings with HR to discuss potential staffing issues and cultivates organizational input to anticipate and plan resource needs for current and future activities
  • Assesses inquiries directed to the Sr. Director to determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage
  • Ensures all staff issues are addressed properly efficiently and judiciously keeping track of progress until resolved
  • Develops mentors and coaches others for enrichment opportunities and to assist with development

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree: Minimum 14 years of relevant experience
  • OR Masters degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
  • OR PhD: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • OR 22 or more years of relevant education training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712) which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
