Laboratory Technician

Role: Laboratory Technician

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Laboratory Technician.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor the Laboratory Technician will perform a range of duties in the Laboratory as required. They will perform routine laboratory tests to a high quality in accordance with SOPs & Risk Assessments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To undertake routine preparation of samples.

• Perform sample analysis using laboratory equipment and procedures (ICP-MS ICP-OES XRF wet chemistry methods)

• To assist with the management of laboratory equipment e.g. monitoring recording calibration and maintenance.

• To undertake any other sample preparation and analysis work assigned to them.

• To keep up to date with changes in technology.

• To attend training and development courses as required.

• Develop new & existing documentation & risk assessments.

• To participate in safety 5S and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

• To calculate and report results in a timely manner.

• To record results obtained in LIMS.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Must have a relevant third level science or technical qualification.

• Experience with ICP-MS ICP-OES and XRF instrumentation would be advantageous.

• 2 years Laboratory experience is required.

• Experience in an industrial Laboratory would be advantageous.

Additional Info:

• This role will be full time Mon Fri basis from 7:30am 16.00pm.

• There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.

• There will be some international travel required as part of this role.
