What does a Director of Network Contracting do

The Director of Network Contracting and Payor Relations at HME Specialists is a pivotal role that emphasizes the strategic development and management of contracts with insurance payors and healthcare networks to drive the growth of our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) business. This position will spearhead the establishment of effective contracting strategies with commercial Medicare Medicaid and other payor entities ensuring alignment with our company addition to leading negotiations for fee schedules and value-based arrangements you will be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with payor partners to secure optimal reimbursement structures. Your keen oversight of contract performance and compliance will empower you to identify opportunities for renegotiation or optimization positioning HME Specialists for sustained operational success and enhanced service delivery in the medical supply industry.

To thrive as the Director of Network Contracting and Payor Relations at HME Specialists candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration or a related field-an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in healthcare contracting payor relations or managed care is essential particularly within the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or post-acute care sectors. Success in this role requires proven expertise in negotiating complex contracts and managing payor relationships effectively. Strong analytical skills are necessary to assess contract performance and compliance while outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities are vital for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with insurance payors and healthcare networks. A strategic mindset and problem-solving capabilities will further enhance ones ability to align network strategies with company objectives driving operational success and growth in the medical supply industry.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare contracting payor relations or managed care preferably within the DME or post-acute care space.
