THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:This position is located at the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory (Crime Lab) 4805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave in Anchorage nestled at the foot of the beautiful Chugach Mountains. The daily work environment consists of a small team of task-driven individuals. The incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission. Travel may be required to fulfill job duties. Work outside of normal business hours may be needed on occasion.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education and Training: Knowledge of teaching training research making presentations lecturing testing and other instructional methods.
Reading: Understands and interprets written material including technical material rules regulations instructions reports charts graphs or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
Speaking: Uses correct English grammar to organize and communicate ideas in words that are appropriate to listeners and situations; uses body language appropriately.
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level depending on the applicants training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at level 1 promotion to level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
AT TIME OF INTERVIEW:This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position and required access to APSIN an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
